The Leica 42.5mm does have a little smoother bokeh and definitley has higher contrast at wide apertures. It is very apparent that these two lenses are both exceptional. For more detailed information on each lens, take a look at my full reviews of the Fuji 56mm f/1.2 and the Panasonic Leica 42.5mm f/1.2 Nocticron.

Summary. “ Tokina atx-m 56mm F1.4 X for Fujifilm APS-C cameras is a great lens overall with excellent build quality (metal construction). Providing wider aperture at F1.4 for superb portraits and street photography. With the price range of approximate USD 450.00, it is going to be a favourite lens for many ”.

The Fujinon 60mm f2.4 is a short telephoto macro lens for the Fujifilm X-Mount APS-C mirrorless camera system. This lens features a fast f2.4 aperture with 9 aperture blades and an equivalent field of view of 90mm, making it great for portrait photography as well as product photography . The excellent corner to corner sharpness also means
I do have the 18/1.4, 33/1.4, 50/2 and 90/2. I'm very content. The 50/2 is a great little lens. I really never gave the 56/1.2 much thought. I am relatively new to the Fuji eco system and purposely held off from buying the 16/1.4 and 35/1.4. I got the 16/2.8 and the 24/2 instead and this held me over until a new 1.4 lenses were introduced. Fujifilm XF 16mm f/2.8 vs. XF 14mm f/2.8. At $899.00, The XF 14mm f/2.8 R, has been my personal choice of wide-angle lens in this range for a number of years.I tend to prefer the slighter wider perspective but with that said, the XF 16mm f/2.8 R WR was not available at the time I purchased my lens.
Sharpness at 56mm. For these sharpness tests the Fujifilm 56mm lens was attached to a Fujifilm X-T1 body, which in turn was mounted on a sturdy tripod. Slight tonal changes are due to slight changes in natural light during the session. The centre is remarkably sharp wide-open at f/1.2, with peak performance achieved in the f/2.8-8 range.

The Fuji 56mm f/1.2 (read my full review here) is considered one of the premier lenses of the Fujifilm lens lineup. The 56mm focal length gives a field of view the same as that of an 85mm lens on full frame, while the fast f/1.2 aperture will yield depth of field similar to an f/1.8 lens on full frame.

This Fuji 50/2 is all-purpose, weather-resistant, fast short telephoto for their APS-C X-mount cameras, equivalent to a 75mm lens on a 35mm or full-frame camera. It's almost all metal with engraved markings and made-in-Japan, just like a real lens. This isn't a plastic dog plop from China.

Coming to you from Christopher Frost Photography, this excellent video review takes a look at the Fujifilm XF 56mm f/1.2 R APD lens. This lens is a bit unique, as it employs an apodization element.

Generally, the face should be in focus from the nose to the ear That means anywhere from F5.6 to F11 depending on the focal length being used. So, unless one is after wide, shallow DoF shots, the 55-200 is a serviceable lens for portraiture. Its a bit longer and skinnier than the 56. Both handle well on an X T1.

IMHO the choice is between the sigma 56mm f1.4 and the new 56mm f1.2. The old lens has too many quirks to recommend it. I went for the sigma and it is a great affordable portrait lens, very sharp and smooth bokeh. The new fuji wins on the “rendering” side, more pleasing softness for portraits, slightly more blur, WR.
